South Brisbane
The Southern suburbs of Brisbane are located directly south of the central business district. Brisbane is largely controlled by one local government called Brisbane City Council. The city is split up into 26 wards with 8 of them located in the southern suburbs of Brisbane.
Southern Wards:
Ridge Ward, Dutton Park Ward, Holland Park Ward, Jamboree Ward, Moorooka Ward, Richlands Ward, Runcorn Ward and Wishart Ward.

Infrastructure:
Rail and bus are the two forms of public transport available in the southern suburbs. The Beenleigh, Robina and Ipswich rail lines all service the southern suburbs with numerous stations throughout the area. Buses compliment the extensive train network by connecting the population to the train stations as well as transporting residents directly to the central business district.
Major roads that service the area include the Bradfield Highway, Riverside Express, Pacific Motorway, Coronation Drive, Ipswich Road and Fairfield Road. These roads connect the southern suburbs to the central business district and other areas around Brisbane.
The South is home to both the wealthy and working class with many contrasts in both people and scenery. There are plenty of amazing restaurants and cafes in the south with fast food options also available. Parklands, conservation parks, reservoirs, bushland are all accessible with a short drive or even a walk from some suburbs. The Brisbane River runs through many of the southern suburbs such as Dutton Park and Yaronga. Amongst all of this natural beauty lays suburbs with a cosmopolitan feel, a mix of modern and heritage houses with great access to shops and schools.
