Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay is located on the south east coast of Australia in the state of Queensland. The town has a population of over 50,000 people under the local government authority of the Frasier Coast Regional Council. Three and half hours drive north of Brisbane or just a quick 45 minute flight will take you to one of Queensland’s best and most easily accessible holiday areas. Hervey Bay is a very popular tourist destination for Australians and international visitors due to its amazing scenery, wildlife and proximity to several world class tropical islands.

Hervey Bay has a domestic airport which is serviced by Virgin Blue, Qantas Link and Jetstar. The airport is important for the city’s economy and its accessibility to the rest of Australia.

Wide Bay Transit is a bus company that operates in Hervey Bay as well as the surrounding areas. It services several routes that are crucial to the community, however the main mode of transport is by car. The major roads that connect the city to its suburbs and other major towns include the Bruce Highway, Booral Road, Maryborough Hervey Bay Road and Torbanlea Pialba Road.

Hervey Bay is a picturesque seaside city best known for its whale watching and proximity to the world heritage listed Fraser Island.
