South Coast of New South Wales
The south coast is an informal name given to the coastal area of New South Wales starting around the Shoalhaven district, south of Sydney and stretching to the Victorian border.

- Shoalhaven (Nowra and Surrounds)
- Clyde Coast (Tambourie, Durras and more)
- Eurobodalla (Batemans Bay and surrounds)
- Sapphire Coast (Bega, Eden, Merimbula and more)
The Illawarra Region can also be included.
Shoalhaven:
The City of Shoalhaven has a population of over 88,000 which encompasses a number of small towns all under the same local government authority. Some towns include Sussex Inlet, Berrara, Cudmirrah, Cunjurong, Bendalong, Falls Creek, Tamaroong, Jervis Bay, Milton, Ulludulla, Mollymook, Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Bomaderry and Nowra. The area is connected to the rest of the coast by the Princes Highway and the southern coast rail line. Nowra is the commercial centre of Shoalhaven with Bomaderry next door. The area has a large dairy industry and is surrounded by lush green forests and grazing patches. Ulludulla has long stretches of underdeveloped beaches which are constantly attracting more visitors mainly from Sydney and Canberra. Jervis Bay is a well know tourist attraction with a vibrant community. The Shoalhaven region provides an amazing lifestyle with access to educational facilities, hospitals, shops, forests, beaches and waterways. Vibrant towns with strong economies and good access to surrounding areas make this region very popular. The Shoalhaven region brings a mix of the Australian wilderness and modern towns resulting in a great place to holiday or settle down.
Clyde Coast:
South of Ulludulla is the beautiful under developed region of the Clyde Coast. This picturesque area is spoilt with amazing natural scenery. Beaches include Racecourse Beach, Merry Beach, Pebbly Beach, South Duras and Wairo Beach. Incredible waterways also pass through the area such as the Clyde River and Lake Tabourie. The area has several small “sleepy” towns which are a great place for a getaway. Tabourie, Termeil, Durras, Nelligen and Bawley point provide a relaxed place to live or have a weekend away. The nature around these towns is unique and largely untouched. If you want to see Australia as it was hundreds of years ago, then this is the place for you. Like the rest of the south coast of NSW, this area is connected by the Princes Highway and is a short distance from bigger regional towns. The Clyde Coast offers an abundance of natural treasures ensuring its bright future as a great tourist destination.
Eurobodalla:
Eurobodalla local government area incorporates a number of small towns. The population of the region is around 36,000 people with almost one third of those living in Batemans Bay. Batemans Bay is a popular tourist destination for the residents of Canberra as it is in close proximity to the city. The town is home to a number of infrastructure conveniences that are enjoyed in bigger centres due to the fact that at certain times in the year the population swells dramatically with tourists.
This region has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in New South Wales with the majority of the area filled with national parks, forests and waterways with great beaches as well.
Sapphire Coast:
This area is governed by the Bega Valley Shire Council and is located on the south eastern coast of New Wales.
